He presented a thesis on “Analysis of the performance of speed and excitation regulation system” using fast acting integrator type AVR for a large hydro-generator (15 MW). This was concerned with studying power system from the viewpoint of electronic control systems (based on Nyquist Criteria) through Analog and Digital Computer at one of the premier institution of India, IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Kanpur. He personally prepared digital computer program in FORTRAN IV as early as in year 1968 at IIT, Kanpur and compiled it on IBM 7044 Main Frame Computer, the fastest computer in India at that time.

He joined CPWD as Electrical Engineer on 20. 5. 1968 and served for 35 years. At present he is working as Chief Consultants Engineer with M/s Hospitech Management Consultants Pvt. Limited, WTC, New Delhi and engaged in designing most modern E/M, Electronic services and IBMs in premier medical colleges and big hospital systems including AIIMS at Raipur and Patna and 20 more hospital and medical college projects distributed all over India in places like Jorhat, Varanasi, Srinagar, New Delhi, Sagar, Jagdaalpur, Raigarh, Bhopal, Jodhpur and Bhubaneshwar.

Shri V. K. Jain has abundant experience in designing of electrical, mechanical and digital electronic services for a great variety of buildings while working in CPWD at places like Mumbai, Nagpur, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Indore, New Delhi, Amritsar etc. He worked as Project Co-ordinator for the construction project of Vardhaman Mahaveer Medical College, Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi. He designed Electrical/Electronic and BMS services in the Delhi most intelligent CAG Building at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi. This CPWD project included electrical works including Fire Fighting and Wet Riser System, Intelligent and Addressable Fire Detection and Alarm System, Electric Substation with intelligent switchgear, PLC controlled Diesel Generating Set, Intelligent Centralized Uninterrupted Power Supply, Intelligent Lighting Control for providing more personnel productivity, LED based facade lighting, presentation and electronic facilities, Digital EAPBX, Wireless LAN and VPN, ISDN based Video-conferencing, Integrated Building Management System with EMS, Paging cum Car Calling System and Music etc.

Shri V. K. Jain is a well known practical engineer who has authored more than 150 books on engineering, management and subjects related with computer science.

List of books written by him is appended in page 2 of this web site. He is the person to whom credit can be given for pseudo-motto starting and establishing primary computer education in India. The book “Computer for beginners” published by  M/s Pushak Mahal as early as in 1988,  was the first Indian  book on computer Science and still is the best seller book of India. This was followed by another book “Basic Computer Programming” which was the first Indian book on programming in BASIC Language.

 Authored and designed first ever four colored computer awareness  books for class 1 to 10 standard students which were published by M/s Holifaith International a sister concern of India’s prime publisher, M/s MBD in year 1988. He was the first author to write similar book for Tamilnadu students.

HE authored and designed first ever multi-colored computer awareness  books for class 3 to 8th standard public school students which were published by M/s Progressive Publishers.

The book written by Shree VK Jain “ आधुनिक कंप्यूटर विज्ञान (Adhunic Kamputer Vigyan) published in year 1991 by M/s Galgotia Book Source was the first Indian book on computer science in Hindi. This book was released by then Hon’ble President of India Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma in year 2001.The vice president persuaded him to write information technology books for rural areas in Hindi. Thereafter he had authored and designed three books for early classes which were published by M/s Holifaith International.

He is credited to be the first and most welcome author for his books on all subjects of  “O”  Level course of Govt. of India DOEACC published by M/s BPB Publications, who is the Asia’s largest Book Publisher in those days.

He is most  versatile Indian writer who had  written books on practically all programming languages starting from Fortran, Cobol, C, C++, C#, Java, WML as well as on Web Programming languages ,HTML,DHTML, JSP, Visual Basic, C#.net, XML, Perl,VB.Net, R, Python, Mobile Commerce and Networking etc. He has written books on Information Technology, Computer Architecture, DBMS, Software Technology, Cryptology. He wrote a number of books on application programming languages like Foxpro, Dbase, MS word, MS Excel, MS Access as well.

He also wrote books on Management subjects like MIS, System Analysis and Design, Construction Project Management.

He is one of the few Indian Authors who come from field rather than college. He was the first Indian Author to  develop books for several different engineering disciplines. He wrote books on all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public health) Engineering subjects including Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Fire Safety, Electrical and water supply.

Also he was the first Indian author who wrote books for Green subjects, Intelligent and high-rise buildings. BMS and Automation  and Services in building Complexes.

Two books written by me in Hindi won “Viswakarma Award” from Ministry of Work Housing and Urban Development.
